The incident, which was reported on Friday, April 9, reportedly occurred shortly after 7:00 a.m. as a known juvenile was alone and waiting for her school bus near the intersection of Spring Avenue and Penn Street (SR 403).
The juvenile reported that a “larger-sized, dark gray SUV” was traveling north on SR-403. The vehicle was traveling slowly when the driver, described as a heavy-set white male, approximately 60-70 years of age with short, white hair asked her if she wanted some candy.
Police say after conducting additional interviews and an extensive investigation, it was determined the man involved in the incident did not attempt to lure the child and there is no cause for alarm in the community.
The members of the Indiana-based State Police would like to thank the local community and members of the media for their immediate assistance with the investigation.
