Arnold D. “Arnie” Brown

Arnold D. “Arnie” Brown, 79, Sandy Township, passed away Saturday, September 1, 2018.

Born May 7, 1939, he was the son of the late Alvin and Avanella (Keller) Brown.
On August 14, 1960, he married Lillian (Bush) Brown in DuBois. They recently celebrated 58 years of marriage. She survives.

Arnie graduated from the Luthersburg High School. He served in the U.S. Army for two years. Arnie then worked for Shaw Mack Trucking as a Parts Manager for many years. He also worked on a Parts Advisory Council for the Mack Truck Company. After working at several other jobs, he retired from Allen Pool Sales in 2001. His retirement found him working part-time for the All Washed Up Auto Spa until 2015.

In his younger years, Arnie worked with the 4-H Horse Club in DuBois. He belonged to a snowmobile club (Rockton Ridge Riders), which he helped to form. Arnie was an avid hunter and fisherman, as long as his health permitted. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, where he loved to meet and greet everyone each Sunday. Arnie enjoyed spending time with family, especially his grandson from Maryland when he spent time here with him.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Randall (Cindy) Brown, Maryland, a grandson, Nicholas Brown, Maryland, one brother, two step-great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends and family will be received Thursday, September 6, 2018, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Christ Lutheran Church. Following the visitation, a funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. at the church with Rev. John Miller officiating. Interment will be in Beechwoods Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Adamson Funeral Chapel, Inc.
