BROCKWAY, Pa. (EYT) — The District 9 2A Wrestling Pairings for this weekend’s tournament at Clearfield Area High School have been released by Chairman Randy Cathcart.

The action begins at 4 p.m. Friday with the preliminary round, followed by the quarterfinals and two rounds of consolations.

Saturday, the semifinals begin at 10:30 a.m. with two rounds of consolations.

At 3:30 p.m., the Parade of Champions and District 9 Hall of Fame presentation will be done.

The finals and consolation finals begin at 4 p.m.

The top four finishers in each weight class qualify for the 2A Northwest Regional Tournament in Sharon March 3-4. A team trophy will also be awarded.

Tickets are $3 for students and $6 for adults. For all sessions, student tickets are $9 and adults $18.

Food, snacks and beverages will be available for purchase at the Clearfield Area High School cafeteria.

For the Brockway Rovers, they are led by top-seeded sophomore Garrett McClintick and freshman Anthony Glasl.

At 106 pounds, Glasl (26-6) begins his quest for a district title against Smethport’s Bryent Johnson in the preliminary round.

At 120, sophomore Elijah Shifter (8-4) is seeded eighth and will wrestle the winner of the match between Brookville’s Gavin Park and Oswayo Valley’s Patrick Rounsville.

At 138, sophomore Bryce Grecco (3-10) will take on Oswayo Valley’s Isaiah Barney in the prelim.

At 145, Rover freshman Andrew Hickman (14-14) is seeded eighth and has a bye before wrestling the winner of the match between Bradford’s Dillon Keane and Port Allegany’s Deven Smoker.

At 152, junior Angelo Inzana (9-8) will take on No. 7 Jonathan Francis of Ridgway in the first round.

At 160, freshman Eric Johnson (15-12) is seeded No. 7 and wrestle Cranberry’s Eben Wry in the first round.

At 170, McClintick (24-6) is seeded first and will wrestle the winner of the match between Bradford’s Kholton Fuller and Keystone’s Camden Boggess.

At 182, senior Erik Botright (6-11) opens with No. 2 Eli Ayers of Coudersport.

At 195, junior Pierce Yahner (5-12) is seeded fourth and will wrestle No. 5 Smethport’s Matt Stratton in the quarterfinals.

At 220, sophomore Justin Smith (2-3) is seeded fifth and will take on Ridgway’s Hunter Kos in the quarters.

At 285, sophomore Hayden Thompson (10-9) is seeded eighth and will battle Johnsonburg’s Zach Hodgdon in the first round.
