State Police Calls: DUI, Death-Natural Causes
JEFFERSON CO., Pa. (EYT) – Area state police responded to the following calls:
DUI Arrest on I-80, Washington Township
DuBois-based State Police conducted a traffic stop at 2:20 p.m. on Saturday, February 15, on Interstate 80 East in Washington Township, on 2003 Toyota Corolla due to a vehicle code violation.
During the initial interactions with the operator, an Ashtabula, Ohio man, a strong odor of marijuana was emitting from within the vehicle.
Following further questioning and field sobriety tests, the operator was placed under arrest for suspicion of DUI.
Blood results are pending.
Death in Big Run Borough - Natural Causes
Members of Punxsutawney-based State Police responded to a residence located at 223 East Main Street, in Big Run Borough, Jefferson County, around 11:00 a.m. on February 10, for the report of a welfare check of an 80-year-old female.
Upon PSP arrival, entry into the residence was made, and the identity of the female was confirmed to be Lois Irene Kishel.
Upon further investigation, it was determined that Kishel had died of apparent natural causes.
