The Golden Eagles (5-4-1, 4-3-1 PSAC) will host Pitt-Johnstown on Sept. 27 to close out the brief homestand.

Sheesley scored her second goal in as many games, taking a pass from Dani McNally in the 73rd minute and converting it. McNally took control of the ball on the right-hand side of the penalty box and carried it across, shrugging off a defender before finally losing the handle. Sheesley collected the ball and sent a rocket to the far post, beating keeper Dana DiCamillo to put the Golden Eagles ahead 1-0.

The Golden Eagles had one of their best chances to score in the 55th minute after Erin Rodgers sent up a beautiful lead pass to Aaliyah Odom. Odom ripped a shot that clanged off the left post and ricocheted back to Stephanie Lias, whose follow-up shot went just wide of the far post.

Carlee Freeberg also had a number of opportunities to pile on the Mountaineers, with the best coming in the 79th minute. She took a lead pass from the right side and fired a hard shot, but DiCamillo was up to the task of cutting off the angle and making the save.

Clarion vastly outshot Mansfield, firing away at a 26-6 margin, and the Golden Eagles held a 6-0 advantage in shots on net. They also enjoyed a 4-3 edge in corner kicks.
