Clear Creek State Park to Host Archaeological Dig on August 19

SIGEL, Pa. (EYT) – Clear Creek State Park will host an Ashes and Iron Archaeological Dig on Saturday, August 19.

The event is from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Clear Creek’s lumbering history is being uncovered inch by inch with volunteer archaeologists Brian and Amanda Valko Fritz.

Meet at the blacksmith shop dig site, 1.5 miles from the park entrance, above the maintenance building and help discover more about the man who pounded iron in the 1800’s.

Come for the day or stay for an hour.
