Driver, Passenger Injured in Rollover Crash in Pine Township

PINE TWP., Pa. (EYT) – A driver and his passenger were rushed to Penn Highlands Clearfield following a rollover crash on Interstate 80 in Pine Township.

According to DuBois-based State Police, around 4:54 p.m. on January 3, 35-year-old Passang T. Sherpa, of Akron, Ohio, was traveling west on I-80, around mile marker 109, traveling in the left lane.

He lost control of his 2012 General Motors 3500 truck while negotiating a bend in the roadway. The vehicle crossed over into the right lane and veered off onto the right side of the road into a cement culvert and overturned.

Sherpa and his passenger – 48-year-old Tandu T. Tamang, of Akron, Ohio – suffered suspected injuries.

Clearfield County EMS personnel transported both individuals to Penn Highlands Clearfield.

Penfield Volunteer Fire Department assisted at the scene.

Bricen’s Towing removed the vehicle from the scene.

Sherpa was determined to be at fault and cited accordingly.
