Jefferson County Fire Destroys Garage

WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) — DuBois-based State Police are investigating a fire that destroyed a two-story, two-car garage Tuesday on Auction Barn Road in Washington Township, Jefferson County.

One of the owners of the garage, Stephanie Ellenberger, saw smoke outside the residence, went outside to investigate and saw flames coming from around the garage doors. She called 911 to report the fire.

When firefighters arrived on the scene, the fire had already broken through the roof and the garage was fully engulfed.

The Pa. State Police Fire Marshal was asked to determine the cause and origin of the fire. After a preliminary scene exam, it appeared that the fire started near the front left corner of the garage on the first floor.

The cause of the fire is still undetermined and is under investigation.

Anyone with information, including photos or video of the fire, is asked to contact the Pa. tate Police Fire Marshal.

Damage was estimated at $50,000. The building and its contents were insured.

No injuries were reported.
