John Robert Hodak, 37, of Punxsutawney passed away on Friday, April 21, 2017.
John was born on November 15, 1979 in Butler, the son of John and Jane Frances (Schmeider) Hodak.
On September 10, 2012 he married the love of his life, Aine Elissa Skarbek who survives. Together they had a daughter Savannah Beth Hodak who also survives and was John’s pride and joy.
John was a truck driver for KMI, Inc for the past five years and loved what he did. He was fondly called “Super Trucker” by his friends and family.
John was also a “people” person and made friends with everyone. He was always there to help anyone who needed him, no matter how busy he was.
John was dearly loved by his family and enjoyed spending time with his wife, his little girl, Savannah, and his parents-in-law who loved him as if he were their own child.
He also enjoyed being outdoors hunting, fishing, and riding four-wheelers.
In addition to his wife, Aine and his cherished daughter, Savannah, John is survived by his parents, John and Karen Hodak and Jane Frances (Schmeider) Hodak of Butler, his in-laws, Dolores and her husband Terry Thompson of Punxsutawney, and Kenneth Skarbek and Deborah Doty of Punxsutawney, and his step-brother, Guyd Baptiste of Butler. John is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Friends and family will be received at the Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., of Punxsutawney on Tuesday, April 25, 2017 from 4 – 8 p.m.
A funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 8:00 p.m.with Pastor Andrew Shaffer officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in John’s memory can be made to a trust established for his daughter, Savannah, at Citizen’s National Bank of Punxsutawney.
