Man Loses Control of Truck, Crashes into Guide Wire


SNYDER TWP, Jefferson Co. (EYT) — A West Virginia man crashed his 2007 Chevy 2500 while driving on Route 219 in Snyder Township on June 23.

According to State Police, Dalton Lancaster, 25, of New Cumberland, WV, was driving north when he failed to negotiate a left curve and drove through two yards, damaging the grass.

The vehicle continued across Glasshurst Road and struck the guide wire of a Penelec utility pole, shearing off the top half before coming to rest against the guide wire.

Lancaster was wearing his seat belt and was not injured. His vehicle was disabled and was towed from the scene by the man’s company.

Brockway Volunteer Fire Department and Penelec assisted at the scene.
