DUBOIS, Pa. (D9Sports) – Garret Prosper’s bases-loaded, no-out sacrifice fly in the bottom of the eighth inning lifted DuBois Central Catholic to a 10-9 win over visiting Cameron County.

Jack Frank started the rally for the Cardinals when he reached on an error leading off the inning. Brandon Walker then walked and the bases became loaded when Thomas Grecco hit a grounder to shortstop that saw Frank beat the rap at third.
Prosper’s game-winning fly ball ruined a great comeback by Cameron County, which trailed 9-3 entering the seventh but scored six times to keep the game alive.
Adam Shaffer’s one out, bases-loaded single tied the game at nine in the seventh after a pair of DCC errors helped the Red Raiders start the rally.
Frank had a huge day at the plate for DCC going 4-for-6 with a double, four RBIs and two runs scored.
Prosper added a 3-for-4 day with a walk and two RBIs, while Walker was 2-for-3 three with a double, a run scored and an RBI.
Derek Rieder went 3-for-5 with an RBI for Cameron County, while Marcus Brown was 2-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI.
Michael Misiewicz got the win going 1 ⅔ innings allowing a walk while striking out one.
Grecco started for DCC and pitched four innings allowing two unearned runs on three hits and two walks while striking out nine. Propers relieved and pitched 2 ⅓ innings allowing seven runs, but only one earned, on six hits and five while striking out one.
Brown suffered the loss allowing one unearned run in 2 ⅓ innings of relief. He gave up three hits and two walks while striking out one.
BRADFORD 5, PUNXSUTAWNEY 3
BRADFORD, Pa. – Bradford scored three times in the bottom of the sixth to stun visiting Punxsutawney, 5-3.
Derek Sunafrank’s bases-loaded, full-count, two-out walk in the bottom of the sixth inning to put Bradford ahead and Kyle Kirk was then hit by a pitch to set the final margin. The Owls, who trailed 3-2 entering the bottom of the sixth, tied the game on a Danny Mannion double to center.
Punxsutawney, which trailed 2-1 heading to the sixth, took the lead in the inning thanks to a passed ball and a Logan Johnston double.
Manion had a big day for Bradford going 3-for-4 with the double, a run scored and an RBI. Kirk was 2-for-3 with the RBI, while Hunter Gray had a pair of RBIs.
Punxsutawney, which has surprisingly lost three in a row and five of six to fall to 3-6 on the year, got two hits apiece from Brandon Matthews and Isaac Stouffer.
Matthews was 2-for-3 with two runs scored, while Stouffer was 2-for-3 with a run scored.
Danny Manion got the win coming within an out of a complete game. He went 6 ⅔ innings allowing three runs, two earned, on five hits and three walks while striking out four. He was removed after throwing 103 pitches.
Kirk relieved but immediately got in trouble walking a pair before Peyton Manion came on to get the final out to earn the save.
Joey Dipietro took the loss in relief of Stouffer. He went 1 ⅔ innings allowing three runs on two hits and three walks while striking out one. Stouffer pitched four innings allowing two unearned runs on four hits and three walks while striking out five. Tyler Richardson threw two pitches to get his only out of the game.
DUBOIS 8, BROOKVILLE 1
BROOKVILLE, Pa. – It’s pitching staff depleted from playing 17 innings in a doubleheader loss at Williamsport Saturday, DuBois got a lift from a trio of hurlers in an 8-1 win at Brookville.
Peter Foradora, Brendan Foley and Ryan Radaker combined on a two-hitter, offsetting a combined nine walks. Foradora got the win in his season debut on the mound, allowing one hit and three walks while striking out three in four innings. Foley, also pitching for the first time this year, went two scoreless innings while Radaker threw the seventh and gave up the Raiders’ lone run.
DuBois put the game away with a five-run fourth inning, all of the runs unearned thanks to three Brookville errors. Braden Paulinellie doubled in two runs, Nick LaBrasca singled in two runs and Ryan Pasternak added a two-out, RBI double.
LaBrasca had the only multi-hit game for the Beavers with two singles.
Seth Dunkle doubled in Cole LaBenne for the Raiders’ lone run in the seventh.
Aaron Park was the losing pitcher, going 3 2/3 innings and giving up five hits and five walks with a strikeout. Five of the six runs he allowed were unearned.
KARNS CITY 10, FOREST AREA 0, 6 INNINGS
BUTLER, Pa. – Jimmy Thompson tossed a six-inning no-hitter and also scored twice while going 1-for-2 at the plate to lead Karns City to a 10-0, six-inning win over visiting Forest Area at Kelly Automotive Park in Butler.
Only a Markus Lantz error kept Thompson from being perfect, as he walked no one and struck out 11.
Tyler Yough led the Karns City offense going 2-for-4 with two runs scored and two RBI. Lantz also drove in a pair of runs for the Gremlins, while Stephen O’Donnell scored twice and drove in one and Jacob Weckerly was 1-for-3 with two runs scored and an RBI.
HUNTINGDON 5, CLEARFIELD 2
HYDE, Pa. – Ben Briggs tossed a three-hitter, as visiting Huntingdon downed Clearfield, 5-2.
Briggs went seven innings allowing two runs. He walked three and struck out six while only going to a three-ball count on the three batters he walked, all in a two-run sixth inning for Clearfield.
Eli Glass had an RBI in the sixth on a bases-loaded walk.
Will Myers carried a no-hitter into the fourth innings despite walking three to that point, but the Bearcats got three hits off him in the inning after he issued his fourth walk with Landon Fisher singling home Huntingdon’s first run and Alex Mykut following with a two-run single.
Myers lasted 4 ⅔ innings allowing five runs, four earned, on four hits and six walks while striking out two.
CURWENSVILLE 16, KANE 6, 5 INNINGS
CURWENSVILLE, Pa. – Avery Francisco drove in five runs, as Curwensville rolled to a 16-6, five-inning win over visiting Kane.
Francisco was 3-for-4 on the afternoon with a pair of double and three runs scored to lead a 14-hit output for the Golden Tide.
Noah VonGunden scored four times for the Golden Tide while going 2-for-5 with three RBIs, while Christian Bakaysa was 2-for-4 with two runs scored, Bryce Timko 2-for-3 with three runs scored and two RBIs and Josh Terry 2-for-3 with two runs scored and an RBI.
Connor Crowley was 2-for-4 with an RBI for Kane, while Ty Stahli drove in a pair of runs and Caleb Holt scored twice.
Timko got the win throwing three innings allowing one run on three hits and two walks while striking out seven.
Stahli suffered the loss giving up eight runs, three earned, on five hits and three walks while striking out four in 1 ⅔ innings of work.
