Nancy Ann Snyder

Nancy Ann Snyder, 81, of Marienville, died on Monday, February 19, 2018, at home surrounded by her loving family after a long battle with cancer.

Born on March 21, 1936, in Lucinda, she was the daughter of the late Sylvester and Lorene Gatesman Schmader.

Mrs. Snyder was a 1954 graduate of St. Joseph School in Lucinda.

On May 11, 1957, she married Robert J. Snyder at St. Joseph Church in Lucinda. He preceded her in death on October 9, 1980.

Mrs. Snyder was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Ann’s Church in Marienville. She was also a member of the Medical Center Board of Directors, President of the St. Ann’s Women’s Club, Treasurer for the Marienville Senior Center, a member of the Marienville Women’s Club, and a lifelong MACA member.

Survivors include two sons and their wives, Robert J. Snyder Jr. and Laura of Marienville and Mark A. Snyder and Amy of Cranberry Twp.; one brother, Lawrence Schmader and his wife, Evelyn, of Lucinda; one sister, Jean Lutz of Lucinda; one sister-in-law, Joyce Schmader of Lucinda; seven grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Snyder is preceded in death by a son, Timothy Snyder; a grandson, Kristian McFarland; four brothers, Kenneth, Donald, Edwin, and Rupert Schmader; and one sister, Vivian Weiser.

Family and friends will be received at Furlong Funeral Home, 140 Cherry Street, Marienville, PA on Thursday, February 22, 2018, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Ann’s Church, 101 Hemlock Street, Marienville, PA, on Friday, February 23, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Christopher Barnes, as celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Ann’s, Jenks Twp, Forest County, PA.
