Pine Creek K-9 Search Unit Has Three Dogs Certified During Winter Evaluation

PINE CREEK TWP., Pa. (EYT) – The Pine Creek K-9 Search Unit held their winter evaluations December 8 to December 10 where three of their dogs were certified in man-trailing through the International Bloodhound Training Institute.

Each year the K-9s and their handlers are tested throughout a 20-hour work evaluation.

The K-9s and their handlers have to successfully prove their search skills in search and man-trailing in order to be certified through INBTI.

This past weekend, two of the K-9 teams were re-certified (K-9 Karma and handler Heather Dimmick and K-9 Moses and handler Carlee Hidinger) and one of the K-9 teams were certified for the first time (K-9 Moses and Handler AJ Moore).

The Pine Creek K-9 Search Unit is available to assist any and all police, fire and other first responders in the search for lost, missing and wanted persons.

Contact the Jefferson County 911 Center to dispatch their services.
