Police Investigating Identity Theft in Perry Twp.; Over $8,200 in Electronics Purchased Under Victim’s Name

PERRY TWP., Pa. (EYT) – State police are investigating an incident of identity theft in which the suspect made over $8,200.00 in purchases using the victim’s name.

The Punxsutawney-based State Police are investigating a report of Identity Theft in which the suspect(s) illegally obtained personal identification information of a 75-year-old Punxsutawney man in order to open a credit card and make multiple purchases under the victim’s name

The incident occurred sometime between 7:30 p.m. on January 5, 2019, and 5:23 p.m. on January 6 on Sprankle Mills Road, in Perry Township, Jefferson County.

The following items are listed as stolen:

– Pioneer Professional DJ Controller valued at $1384,98
– Pioneer Professional DJ Headphone Valued at $243.98
– Pioneer Professional 4-channel Digital DJ Mixer w/USB Valued at $2549.98
– Pioneer Serato DJ Controller valued at $317.34
– Shockmount Neumann Microphone Valued at $3599.95
– Pro Audio Technical Professional Headphone Set Valued at $169.00

Police say a 2018 Hyundai Elantra was involved.

This investigation remains open and is under active investigation.
