Police: Speeding Teen Crashes into Utility Pole

WESTOVER BOROUGH, Pa. (EYT) – Punxsutawney-based State Police have released information surrounding a one-vehicle crash on July 12 in Westover Borough, Clearfield County.

Kailey D. Perez, 18, of Hamburg, Pa., was traveling north on State Route 36 around 7:00 p.m. when she lost control of her vehicle while attempting to turn left onto Sylvis Road.

Perez’s 2008 Volkswagen GTI left the roadway and collided with a utility pole.

Police say Perez was traveling too fast for conditions and under-compensated the turn.

She was transported to Miners Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries, according to police.

Her vehicle sustained disabling damage.

Perez was cited for driving too fast.

Patton Area EMS and Westover Borough Fire Department also assisted at the scene.
