Man Injured in Route 36 Crash


CHEST TWP., Pa. (EYT) – A one-vehicle accident occurred on Friday afternoon on State Route 36, in Chest Township, Clearfield County.

Punxsutawney-based State Police say around 4:45 p.m. on June 23, 59-year-old Mark R. McCarroll, of Clymer, was traveling south on Main Street (Route 36), south of Creek Road, around a left curve while the roadways were wet. Subsequently, he lost control of his 2012 Mercedes-Benz C300 due to bald tires – to the point where tire wire was visible.

McCarroll suffered two small abrasions on his head.

Mahaffey EMS responded to the scene.

The vehicle sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene by Smitty’s Towing.

McCarroll will be cited through District Court 46-3-04.
