Details of the case:

According to a criminal complaint, around 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 25, Officer Turnbull, of the Brookville Borough Police Department, received a call from Police Chief Vince Markle to assist probation and parole and a state constable at a residence on Main Street in Brookville Borough for a controlled substance found inside an apartment.

Officer Turnbull arrived at the Main Street residence and met with the tenant, Michele Garvey.

According to the complaint, Garvey gave a written statement and permission for a search of the residence.

The complaint states that inside the residence, two mason jars of marijuana and approximately one-half ounce of marijuana and paraphernalia were found in various places throughout the kitchen; two vials of hash oil were found in the living room; and cocaine, still in solid form, was found inside a boot in a closet.

According to the complaint, Garvey allegedly reported that Leon Guess asked her to reach out to people to see if they wanted marijuana or cocaine. Garvey also informed Officer Turnbull that she did not know where the cocaine was and would not have been able to move the product.

It was discovered that Guess had an active warrant for his arrest, and he was taken into custody and transported to the Brookville Borough Police Station.

Officer Turnbull spoke to Guess about the controlled substances found in the apartment.

According to the complaint, Guess allegedly admitted that the marijuana and cocaine were his and that he intended to sell the controlled substances.

Guess was arraigned on Thursday, October 25, in Magisterial District Judge Gregory M. Bazylak’s office.

He was lodged in the Jefferson County Jail on $50,000.00 monetary bail.

Garvey was arraigned on Monday, October 29, in Judge Bazylak’s office.

Unable to post $20,000.00 monetary bail, she was lodged in the Jefferson County Jail.
