Wet Roadway Causes Crash in Sandy Township

SANDY TWP., Pa. (EYT) – The wet roadway caused a one-vehicle crash on Monday afternoon on I-80 East in Sandy Township.

According to DuBois-based State Police, the accident happened around 3:56 p.m. on Monday, September 17, on Interstate 80 East at mile marker 99.6 in Sandy Township, Clearfield County.

Police say 21-year-old Robben M. Stever, of Alexandria, VA, was traveling in a 2015 Ford Fiesta in the left lane of I-80 and lost control on the wet roadway. His car struck the guide rail on the left shoulder of the road and then traveled across both lanes of and came to a final rest on the right side of the shoulder.

He was using a seat belt and was not injured.

He was charged with a traffic violation.
