Agnes Johannah Keibler

Agnes Johannah Keibler, 85, of Punxsutawney, died Sunday, October 19, 2014 at Christ the King Manor.

She was born August 20, 1929 in Jeannette, Pennsylvania, a daughter of the late Albert Merle McCauley and Kathryn (Hays) McCauley.

On December 18, 1946 she became the wife of Howard Eugene Keibler. He preceded her in death on June 27, 1990.

Agnes was a hardworking farmer’s wife that wouldn’t settle for the term “I can’t do it” she was determined, head strong and raised her children to be the same.

She was an artistic talented painter, and she enjoyed teaching others through art classes. She also taught sewing to 4-H youth.

Survived by four sons, Howard M. Keibler and wife Carole of Saltsburg, Dexter A. Keibler and Barbara, Punxsutawney, Ronald R. Keibler and wife Debbie of Butler, and Eric Keibler and wife Brenda of Punxsutawney; a daughter inlaw, Giovanna R. Keibler of Saltsburg; twelve grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren, and one on the way; one brother, Ronald McCauley of Export, one sister, Janice Carr of PA.

Preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, Timothy E. Keibler, two brothers, Albert and Thomas McCauley, one sister, Audrey Wallace.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, October 21, 2014 at Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Punxsutawney.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home officiated by Pastor Fred Williams.

Interment will follow at Northpoint Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made in Mrs. Keibler’s memory to the American Cancer Society.
