Driver Drops Coffee on Himself, Crashes into Utility Pole in Falls Creek

FALLS CREEK BOROUGH, Pa. (EYT) – According to DuBois-based State Police, around 9:42 a.m. on November 8, a one-vehicle accident occurred on State Route 830, Main Street, at its intersection with Taylor Avenue, in Falls Creek Borough.

Police say 46-year-old Michael A. Snyder, of Falls Creek, was traveling westbound on SR 830, and his 2005 Nissan Xterra negotiated a right curve in the roadway.

Then, Snyder spilled a cup of hot coffee on himself, distracting him from his driving, according to police.

The SUV traveled off the right side of the roadway and struck a utility pole with its right front and came to a final rest.

Snyder was using a seat belt and was not injured.

Zimmerman Towing assisted at the scene.
