Esther M. Pifer of Erie formerly of DuBois, passed away peacefully in her sleep Thursday, December 18, 2014 at St. Mary Asberry Ridge, Erie, PA will be sadley missed by her cherished family and friends.
Born in Sabula she was the daughter of William H. and Mary C. (Himes) Murray.
Mrs. Pifer was a homemaker and was a custodian for the DuBois Area High School for over twenty-two years.
She was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church, of DuBois and was a former sunday school
teacher.
Mrs. Pifer is survived by one daughter, Bonnie Jean McGranor of Erie, four grandchildren, Melissa, MIchael, Wendy and
Kelly, six great grandchildren and one great great grandchild on the way. Also surviving two sisters, Virginia I. Lundberg
and Ella L. McGranor both of Erie, also several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Lester H. “Red” Pifer, a daughter Patricia Ann Pifer, an infant son Lester LaMar, a sister Ruth E. Murray and a brother, Melvin L. Murray.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 22, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at the Mohney Yargar Funeral Chapel, Inc. with LaMar Adamson officiating. Interment will be in Morningside Cemetery.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Sunday, December 21, 2014 from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM and on Monday from 10:00 AM until the hour of services.
