Edna Irene Reed, 91, 49 Brookside Lane, Brookville, formerly of Hormtown, die on Janunary 29, 2015, at Brookside Senior Living in Brookville.
She was born on November 10, 1923, in Washington Township, she was a daughter of the late Harry C. and Elsie Smith Snyder. She married Henry Eugene Reed July 20, 1945. He preceded her in death March 14, 1990.
Edna was a 1941 graduate of Beechwoods High School. She was a former employee of Cameron Manufacturing of Reynoldsville and retired as a cook from Jefferson Manor, Brookville, after 15 years of service.
Edna was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Hormtown. Edna enjoyed playing Bingo and putting puzzles together with her friend, Mary.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey L. Reed, on May 19, 2004; two brothers, Richard T. and James D. Snyder; and a sister, Martha S. Moore.
Friends will be received from 1-3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 1, 2015, at the Bernard P. Snyder Funeral Home in Reynoldsville. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 2, at the funeral home with the Rev. James Steingass officiating. Burial will be in Smith Cemetery, Reynoldsville.
