Rita A. Tripp, 67, of Punxsutawney, passed away Friday, March 6, 2015, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.
Mrs. Tripp was born Nov. 30, 1947, in Patton, a daughter of the late Xavier and Eliza (Walker) Strittmatter.
Rita is survived by her husband of 47 years, James R. Tripp of Punxsutawney.
She was a member of St. Marys Catholic Church in Patton. Rita loved gaming at the casinos and spending time with her family.
She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
In addition to her husband, James, she is survived by two sons, James R. Tripp Jr. of Tionesta and Joseph A. Tripp of Hughsville; three brothers, Philip Strittmatter of New Hampshire, Charles Strittmatter and wife Joan of Patton and Gerald Strittmatter and wife Jane of Carrolltown; and two grandsons, James and Jordan Tripp.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Vergith.
Friends will be received from 3 to 6 p.m., Sunday, March 8, 2015, at the McCabe Funeral Home in Punxsutawney.
A private blessing service will be held for the immediate family.
Interment is private.
