Attorney General Kane Reminds Residents of Important Hotlines During Sunshine Week

HARRISBURG, Pa. – Attorney General Kathleen G. Kane yesterday reminded Commonwealth residents that her office can assist with a variety of criminal, civil, and consumer issues and that it is committed to making sure residents receive the help they need.

The announcement coincides with Sunshine Week, a national initiative aimed at promoting a dialogue on the importance of open government and freedom of information, according to the Sunshine.org website. The event runs March 15-21.

The Attorney General’s office has several hotlines available to help Commonwealth residents connect with someone best suited to address their questions or concerns.

In addition, residents can send anonymous tips to the office:

• Those who suspect an online predator or child sexual abuse can text PAKIDS + YOUR TIP to 847411.
• Anyone who has witnessed a drug deal in their neighborhood or suspects illegal drug activity where they live or work can text PADRUGS + YOUR TIP to 847411.
