William “Bill” Ray Evans

William “Bill” Ray Evans, 79, of Brookville, passed away Saturday, July 11, 2015.

Born Oct. 6, 1935, in Brookville, Bill was the son of Ray Evans and Alice Lucas Evans.

Bill is survived by his wife, Janet C. Sebring Evans; three children, Robin, Barb and Ken; four grandchildren, Chase, Desi, Aubree and Nicolas; and two step-grandchildren, Shayna and Sadie.

After graduating from Brookville High School, Bill joined the Army and served during the Korean War. Following his military service, he graduated from Penn State University in 1962 with a business degree.

He moved to Louisville, Kentucky, working as a wholesale hardware salesman. He was married to Janet over 50 years ago in 1963, and soon thereafter, he returned to Brookville as the owner operator of the Brookville Hardware Company. After selling the hardware store in 1990, he sold industrial supplies and repair materials until retirement.

During his time in Brookville, he was a member of the Presbyterian Church, the Brookville Jaycees, the Brookville Business Association and the FOE No. 983.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, July 14, 2015, at the McKinney Funeral Home at 345 Main St., Brookville, PA.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, July 15, 2015, at the funeral home, officiated by the Rev. Nathan Royster.
