Police Report Internet Scam, Punxsutawney Man Loses $2,500

alertBELL TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) – Punxsutawney-based State Police say an internet scam occurred on State Route 119, in Bell Township, Jefferson County.

According to police, a Punxsutawney man reported a scam that was listed on Craig’s list.

Police say around 5:00 p.m. on July 15, the victim “attempted to purchase a vehicle on Craig’s list and was scammed out of $2,500.00.”

(Craig’s List Posting is as follows: For Sale – 2005 Subaru Legacy GT, 90,000 miles, asking price $1,500.00, according to police.)
