Punxsy Man Faces Slew of Child Sex Charges

PUNXSUTAWNEY, Pa. (EYT) – A Punxsutawney man is facing over 30 charges in connection with the alleged sexual assault of a 13-year-old girl.

Court records indicate that charges were filed November 19 against Ky Kharee Stiver, 19, of Punxsutawney.

According to a criminal complaint filed by Punxsutawney Borough Police Officer Brian Andrekovich, the victim was interviewed by Pat Barger of Western Pa. Cares for Kids in April 2015. During the interview, the victim stated that she had sex with the defendant on five separate occasions.

According to the criminal complaint, police were granted access to the victim’s Facebook account. During a private message conversation between Stiver and the victim on April 24, 2015, the victim informed the defendant that she would be turning 14 in July. The defendant told the victim that he was 19-years-old. He also allegedly stated that he thought the victim was older, possibly 17. The victim informed the defendant that “everyone thinks she is older than she really is,” according to the criminal complaint.

On April 25, 2015, Stiver and victim were allegedly communicating again via Facebook Messenger about having sex later that evening. The defendant stated that “she (the victim) could either sneak out and meet with him or he could sneak into her house.”

The following day, the defendant and the victim were communicating via Facebook Messenger again when Stiver allegedly requested a video of the victim nude. The victim stated she would send him a video later that evening.

The criminal complaint states that the victim and defendant then allegedly discussed having sexual intercourse later that evening, at which point Stiver allegedly told the victim that he “had a penis 10.5 inches long and asked her if she could handle it.”

According to the criminal complaint, the victim also sent two nude photographs and three semi-nude photographs to Stiver at that time.

The victim told police that she engaged in oral and vaginal sex with Stiver at his apartment later that night.

She also told police that she engaged in oral and vaginal sex with Stiver in mid-June in the woods behind Beyer Avenue Apartments.

The following charges were subsequently filed against Stiver:

– four counts of Statutory Sexual Assault: 4-8 Years Older, Felony 2
– three counts of Child Pornography, Felony 3
– four counts of Unlawful Contact With Minor – Sexual Offenses, Felony 3
– four counts of Corruption of Minors, Misdemeanor 1
– four counts of IDSI Person Less Than 16 Yrs Age, Felony 1
– four counts of Ind Asslt Person Less 16 Yrs Age, Misdemeanor 2
– four counts of Aggravated Indecent Assault – Comp. Less Than 16, Felony 2
– four counts of Contact/Comm.W/Minor-Sexual Abuse, Felony 3

Unable to post $100,000.00 monetary bail, he was lodged in the Jefferson County Jail.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. on January 5, 2016, with Magisterial District Judge Douglas Robert Chambers presiding.
