David G. Palmer, 71, of Pinecreek Twp., Jefferson County, PA, died on Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, OH.
David was born May 27, 1944, in DuBois, PA. He was the son of the late Edward Joseph Palmer and Hazel Amy Schreckengost Palmer.
David was a 1964 graduate of Brookville Area High School. He was married to Lucy Ann Dunham on November 27, 1964 in Eldred Twp., Brookville, PA. David was employed as an insurance salesman for American General/AIG Insurance Company until his retirement in 2006. He was a member of the Brookville Christian & Missionary Alliance Church. David enjoyed family life, hunting, fishing, gardening and traveling. He belonged to the Gideon’s and Alliance Men. He was very active in the Jefferson County Jail Ministry.
Along with his wife, David is survived by a daughter, Ann Palmer Austin of Denver, CO; two sons: Randall S. “Espranza” Palmer of Brookville, and Robert A. “Jennifer” Palmer of Brookville; three brothers: Donald “Linda” Palmer of Parker, PA, John “Marion” Palmer of Baxter, PA, James “Helen” Palmer of Erie, PA; one half brother, Tony Palmer of Reynoldsville, PA; four sisters: Carol Ward of Sanford, NC, Janet “James” Irvine of Hazen, PA, Sue “Jim” Doan of Reynoldsville, PA, Linda “Don” Wells of Oklahoma Rd., DuBois, PA; four grandchildren: Camille, Dominic, Jada, and Chase; and a mother-in-law, Helen Dunham Work.
Along with his parents, David was preceded in death by two brothers, Fred and Harry (Butch) Palmer.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 27, 2015 from 5-8 pm at Furlong Funeral Home, Gregory K. Furlong FD, corner of Broad St. and First Ave., Summerville, PA., and Saturday, November 28, 2015 from 10-11 am at Brookville Christian & Missionary Alliance Church, 59 Stone Rd., Brookville. Services will follow at 11 am with Pastor Brian Smeal officiating. Interment will take place in Butler Cemetery, Pinecreek Twp., Jefferson County, PA.
Per the family’s wishes, memorial may be made to Gideon’s International.
