DUBOIS CENTRAL CATHOLIC 51, BROCKWAY 40

BROOKVILLE, Pa. – Jordy Frank scored eight of her 13 points in the fourth quarter to help DuBois Central Catholic rally past Brockway, 51-40, in the opening round of the Brookville Christmas Tournament Tuesday night.

The Lady Cardinals trailed 33-31 going to the fourth quarter after holding a 25-23 halftime lead and were still behind 37-36 before ending the game on a 15-3 run that capped a 20-7 fourth-quarter advantage.

Riley Assalone tied Frank for team-high honors with 13 points, while Gabby Caruso added nine.

Leah Lindemuth led all scorers with 20 for Brockway including 13 in the first half, while Kaitlyn Morelli added 16 points and 11 rebounds, 12 after halftime, for the Lady Rovers.

DCC will take on DuBois in Wednesday’s title game with Brockway facing host Brookville in the consolation game Wednesday.

DUBOIS 45, BROOKVILLE 40

BROOKVILLE, Pa. – DuBois erased a one-point halftime deficit to pick up a 45-40 win over Brookville in the opening round of the Brookville Christmas Tournament Tuesday night.

The Lady Beavers trailed 21-20 at halftime despite taking a 15-6 lead after one quarter but outscored the Lady Raiders 25-19 in the second half including 14-10 in the fourth quarter to pick up the victory, which also counts as a D9 League win for DuBois.

Courtney Chandler led all scorers with 18 points, including 10 in the first quarter and 14 in the first half, for DuBois, while Taylor Uplinger added nine points and Dayna DeSalve eight for the Lady Beavers. Ashley Hallowell played a key role in the second half for DuBois scoring all six of her points after halftime.

Hali Olson led Brookville with 15 points and did all she could for the Lady Raiders in the fourth quarter netting eight of their points. Brooke Shattenberg chipped in with 10 tallies and Elaina Powell had nine points, all in the second quarter on three 3-pointers.

DuBois will take on DuBois Central Catholic in the championship game Wednesday with Brookville facing Brockway in the consolation game Wednesday.
