Suspects in Brutal Beating of Leeper Native Still At Large

kaltenbach-1COLUMBUS, Oh. (EYT) – Investigators continue to search for the men responsible for the robbery and brutal beating of a Leeper native last fall.

Shaun Kaltenbach had just finished classes at Columbus State University and was on his way home on the evening of Monday, September 14, 2015.

Just after 9:00pm, he was walking down Spring Street, near Talmadge Street, when he noticed three unknown males walking ahead of him.

Shortly after crossing the street, Shaun was confronted, attacked, and robbed by the three suspects.

The suspects robbed Shaun of his clothing and property, which included a cell phone, various forms of ID, keys, book bag, and books.

Shaun was viciously beaten on the head, face, and body in such a severe manner that he fell unconscious, but was later able to make it to a residence where police and medical assistance were summoned.

Shaun’s injuries were extensive and to the degree that he suffered several broken bones in his face and has required reconstructive surgery.

“Probably the biggest frustration is knowing that these people are still out there and got, more or less, got away with doing this with no consequences,” said Shaun.

The suspects are described as male blacks, late teens to early 20’s. One suspect is about 6’0”, 140-150lbs with shoulder length dread locks.
