One Dead After Car Collides with Tree Along Route 66

JENKS TWP., Pa. (EYT) Officials say a 55-year-old man was killed in a one-vehicle accident Tuesday evening in Jenks Township, Forest County.

Marienville-based State Police say the accident happened around 5:19 p.m. on Route 66 near FR-378.

Andrew J. Potyka, 55, of Butler, was traveling north when – for unknown reasons – his 2012 Pontiac G6 exited the roadway and struck a tree head-on.

Potyka was found to be deceased upon police arrival.

The crash remains under investigation.

Forest County Coroner Norman Wimer, Clarion Hospital EMS, Marienville VFD, and Snyder’s Auto Body assisted at the scene.
