BROOKVILLE, Pa. (EYT) — The Jefferson County Fair begins today at 1:30 p.m. at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds.
The fair will run from Sunday, July 16, to Saturday, July 22, at the fairgrounds located off Route 28, just off Interstate 80, exit 81.
Admission is $8.00 and includes parking, admission to all exhibits, unlimited carnival rides, and admission to all grandstand shows.
Sunday’s events are as follows:
– Opening Ceremonies, Karen Uplinger emcee – 1:30 p.m.
Speaker: Pastor Marcia Shaffer of First Baptist Church, Punxsy
Music from Youth Praise Group from Brookville
– Princess, Jr. Queen, & Queen Competition – 2:30 p.m.
– Mini-Horse Pull at 4:00 p.m., Full-size Horse Pull – 7:00 p.m.
Monday through Saturday
Gates open at 2:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, and at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
The carnival opens at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, and at 1:00 p.m. Saturday.
There will be more than 20 food vendors.
Monday night, the ATV racing extravaganza will be held, featuring drivers as young as six-years-old.
On Tuesday and Wednesday nights, there will be the truck and tractor pulls.
Wednesday is Sarvey Fun Night and admission is $4.00 per person.
On Thursday, the car and truck mud bog events will be held.
Also on Thursday, the Area Agency on Aging will host a health fair in the morning followed by a picnic. Village Voices of Brockway will provide the entertainment at the picnic.
The Rawhide Rodeo will perform Friday night and Saturday morning.
The annual Memorial Horse Show begins at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
On Saturday afternoon, the figure 8 races will be held at the grandstand and in the evening.
The fair closes with a demolition derby later that day.
Additionally, there will be exhibits in the grange, expo, and Songer buildings.
Musical entertainment will be provided by Country Pride and Rick Delia and karaoke by Dazzle U Productions.
Other entertainment includes the racing pigs from Circle C Farms, the annual fiddle contest, Magic by Pinky, a rock and roll pet show and bingo by the Brookville Relay for Life teams.
