REYNOLDSVILLE BOROUGH, Pa. (EYT) – A Jefferson County man who allegedly broke a window and entered a woman’s house is scheduled to stand for a preliminary hearing this week.
Court documents indicate 58-year-old John Albert Procaccino, of Reynoldsville, is scheduled to stand for a preliminary hearing in front of
Magisterial District Judge David B. Inzana at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 25, on the following charges:
– Criminal Trespass – Break into Structure, Felony 2
– Criminal Mischief – Damage Property, Misdemeanor 2
According to a criminal complaint, around 6:36 p.m. on Tuesday, April 2, Trooper MacTavish of the DuBois-based State Police responded to a residence on Jackson Street in Reynoldsville Borough regarding an individual who had allegeldy thrown a brick through a window located on the north (back) side of the residence.
According to the complaint, John Procaccino allegedly threw the brick and then proceded to physically walk into the residence after opening the same door. He then fled the scene in an unknown direction.
Trooper MacTavish interviewed the homeowner who stated she was in the kitchen when she heard a loud noise from the living room and went to see what it was. The homeowner then found glass shattered all over the floor of the living room and looked up to see Procaccino reaching through the door.
According to the complaint, the victim reported that Procaccino reached through the broken window, unlocked the door, and then walked into the residence. She went on to state that Procaccino said he needed help “because he was losing his mind,” and when the homeowner said she would call him an ambulance, he ran away.
Trooper MacTavish later interviewed Procaccino at his residence.
The complaint states Procaccino said he knew Trooper MacTavish was there in reference to him throwing a brick through the homeowner’s window and went on to state “the voices in his head told him to do it,” according to the complaint.
Procaccino was arraigned in front of Magisterial District Judge Gregory M. Bazylak at 8:45 a.m. on Wednesday, April 3.
Unable to post $25,000.00 monetary bail, he remains lodged in the Jefferson County Jail.
