Man Allegedly Says ‘I Am Not Afraid to Die’ As He Forces Vehicle Into Truck’s Path

WASHINGTON TWP., Pa. (EYT) – A Brockway man is facing criminal charges following an incident where police say he forced a vehicle into a truck’s path and threatened to kill two family members.

Court documents indicate the DuBois-based State Police filed criminal charges against 26-year-old Nathanial J. Kimberling, of Brockway.

According to a criminal complaint, around 7:40 a.m. on April 12, a known female was operating a silver 2019 Windstar, traveling south on State Route 219 near its intersection with County Line Road in Washington Township with her son, Nathanial Kimberling, in the right front passenger seat.

According to the complaint, Kimberling grabbed the steering wheel and jerked it, causing the vehicle to swerve into the lane of oncoming traffic while there was a tractor trailer heading toward the vehicle.

The known female then regained control of the vehicle and was able to safely merge back into the southbound lane before pulling onto the right shoulder of the roadway.

The complaint notes that during this incident, Kimberling declared, “I am not afraid to die, are you?”

Once the vehicle was put in park, on the shoulder of the road, Kimberling then threatened to kill the woman and his younger brother in their sleep, according to the complaint.

The incident allegedly arose from a heated verbal argument between the Kimberling and his mother. Kimberling then fled the scene on foot and was later apprehended.

Based on the investigation, Kimberling was arraigned in front of Magisterial District Judge David B. Inzana at 1:29 p.m. on April 23, on the following charges:

– Terroristic Threats With Intent To Terrorize Another, Misdemeanor 1
– Simple Assault, Misdemeanor 2
– Recklessly Endangering Another Person, Misdemeanor 2
– Disorderly Conduct Engage In Fighting, Summary

He is currently free on $50,000.00 unsecured bail.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 13, with Judge Inzana residing.
