CLARION, Pa. (EYT) – A local woman is facing felony burglary and related charges after she allegedly broke into a Wood Street church, stole ice cream sandwiches and Kool-Aid, and threw items around in the facility before leaving.
According to court documents, the Clarion Borough Police Department filed criminal charges against 21-year-old Alexis Kaye Thompson, of Sigel, in Magisterial District Judge Duane L. Quinn’s office on Wednesday, May 1.
The charges stem from an incident that occurred around 10:00 p.m. on April 19, 2019, at a church on Wood Street, in Clarion Borough, Clarion County.
According to a criminal complaint filed by Officer Wright, of the Clarion Borough Police Department, Thompson “participated with Keagen Reed in the corruption of two juveniles while gaining entry into a church on Wood Street through a window without permission.”
The complaint states that Thompson allegedly stole and consumed ice cream sandwiches and Kool-Aid.
She also allegedly threw books and other items around the premises before leaving, the complaint continues.
During the course of the investigation, Officer Wright conducted three separate interviews on April 29 that included Keagen Reed and two known juveniles.
According to the complaint, Reed and the two juveniles advised Officer Wright that they had been in the Wood Street property on multiple occasions.
The three also advised that around 10:00 p.m., on Friday, April 19, Reed’s girlfriend – Alexis Kay Thompson – participated in entering into the building, taking three to four boxes of ice cream sandwiches, and consuming them with Reed and both juveniles, the complaint states.
Thompson was arraigned at 10:45 a.m. on May 1 on the following charges:
– Burglary – Not Adapted for Overnight Accommodation, No Person Present, Felony 2
– Criminal Trespass-Enter Structure, Felony 3
– Corruption of Minors, Misdemeanor 1
– Institutional Vandalism Place Worship, Misdemeanor 2
– Theft By Unlawful Taking-Movable Property, Misdemeanor 2
Unable to post $5,000.00 monetary bail, she was lodged in the Clarion County Jail.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on May 7 with Judge Quinn presiding.
