Slippery Roadway Causes Crash on Route 219

SNYDER TWP., Pa. (EYT) – A man lost control of his vehicle on a slippery roadway and struck a parked truck in Snyder Township last Friday.

According to DuBois-based State Police, the accident occurred around 7:07 p.m. on Friday, April 17, as 26-year-old Patrick E. Ecklund, of Saint Marys, was traveling west on State Route 219 toward Brockway Borough, in Snyder Township, Jefferson County.

Police say Ecklund lost control of his 2001 Honda Accord on the snow-covered roadway, and the vehicle slid off the roadway and onto the shoulder where it continued toward a parked 2019 Dodge Ram 1500. The Honda struck the Dodge and then came to a final rest.

Ecklund was using a seat belt and was not injured.

The Honda sustained minor damage to its hood and grille, while the Dodge sustained minor damage to its front bumper.

Ecklund was charged with a traffic violation.
