Charlotte “Lottie” Bigar

Charlotte “Lottie” Bigar, 60, of DuBois, PA, a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend left this world on Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at her home, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born on June 22, 1960 in Ridgway, PA, she was the daughter of the late Sherwood & Delores (Streich) Wilson.

She was a graduate of Ridgway High School and the University of Pittsburgh.

On August 18, 1984, she married her husband of 36 years Joseph Bigar, Jr. He survives.

Many in the area knew Lottie well. A dedicated maternity nurse at Penn Highlands DuBois Hospital for over 30 years, she looked after expectant mothers and their newborns with care and love. She found so much joy bringing life into the world. She was also a member of the former St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church.

Lottie is survived by her daughters; (Nicole Orban & her husband Philip of Mooresville, NC and Kayla Bigar Miller & her husband Kurt of King George, VA), and mother-in-law (Elizabeth Bigar). She was a proud “Mia” to four granddaughters; (Sloane, Reilly, Evan, and Isla). Lottie is also survived by her sisters;(Elizabeth Predko & her husband Michael, Bobby Ann Steger & her husband Andy) and brothers; (Spike Wilson & his wife Racy and Bruce Wilson & his wife Nancy) as well as many nieces and nephews. For Lottie, family meant everything.

She was preceded in death by a niece (Jessica).

Lottie’s cheerful attitude and contagious laugh will be missed by all who cherished her. 

Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 25, 2021 from 5-7 PM at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc. Social distancing requirements will be followed and masks are required. We ask that you keep your visit brief to allow everyone to pay their respects.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, February 26, 2021 at 10 AM from St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church with Msgr. Richard as celebrant.

Burial will take place in St. Joseph Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
