Troopers Investigating Thefts of Firearms from Unlocked Vehicles

BRUSH VALLEY TWP., Pa. – Following the theft of three firearms from unlocked vehicles earlier this week, state police are advising area residents to secure their vehicles and property and to report suspicious activity.

Indiana-based State Police were dispatched to a residence along State Route 56 in Brush Valley Township, Indiana County, on Monday, July 19, at 10:12 p.m. for the theft of a firearm from an unlocked vehicle.

Police say the victim, identified as a 56-year-old Homer City man, reported that a Ruger .357 revolver was stolen from his unlocked vehicle.

On Tuesday, July 20, at 9:40 p.m., Indiana-based State Police were dispatched to a different residence along State Route 56 in Brush Valley Township for the thefts of a Colt .357 revolver and a Smith & Wesson .38 Special revolver, both of which were stolen from unlocked vehicles.

Anyone with information concerning these incidents and/or suspicious activity in their neighborhood is encouraged to immediately contact Troop A, Indiana at 724-357-1960.
