One-Car Crash in Brookville Borough, Driver Escapes Injury

BROOKVILLE BOROUGH, Pa. (EYT) – Punxsutawney-based State Police say around 5:30 a.m. on August 13, a one-car accident occurred on Interstate-80 West, at mile marker 79, in Brookville Borough, Jefferson County.

According to police, 22-year-old Clintin S. Weidig, of Brookville, was traveling west on I-80 and lost control of his 2000 Audi S4 and subsequently entered into a 180 degree clockwise spin.

Police say the car struck the guide rail with the driver side front quarter panel, then spun approximately 90 degree clockwise and hit the guide rail with the rear bumper and traveled an additional 90 feet before coming to a final rest.

Weidig was using a seat belt and was not injured.

He was charged with a traffic violation.

Brookville Volunteer Fire Department and McPherson’s Towing assisted at the scene.
