Vets Can Get Doe Licenses Through Jefferson County

BROOKVILLE, Pa. (EYT) – With less than three weeks before the first day of buck season, much of the Jefferson County Commissioners meeting centered on that very subject. County Treasurer James “Moon” VanSteenberg reported on doe licenses for military personnel. “If you are eligible for a military hunting license and/or doe licenses, the county treasurer’s office will once again have office hours during the Thanksgiving holiday weekend,” VanSteenberg said. The hours will be from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., on Friday, November 25. Military personnel should bring their leave papers, military identification, and LES statement. Even those not eligible for a full military hunting license at the reduced rate can still receive the military doe license. The treasurer’s office is located at the Means & Lauf Building at 155 Main Street, Room 212, in Brookville. For more information, call the office at 814-849-1609. For those that can’t make it to the office on November 25, call VanSteenberg at 814-715-1746 or 814-856-2489 to set up a time to meet. (Photo courtesy of Pa. Game Commission)
