87-Year-Old Woman Escapes Injury in Rollover Crash in Henderson Township

HENDERSON TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) – According to Punxsutawney-based State Police, a one-car accident occurred on Sheplar Road, at its intersection with Paradise Road, in Henderson Township, Jefferson County.

Police say 87-year-old Dorothy Kuntz, of Reynoldsville, was traveling on Sheplar Road and attempted to negotiate a left turn in the roadway and hit a small patch of ice and started to slide.

Her 2008 Dodge Caliber slid approximately 275 feet on the roadway and subsequently struck a snow bank on the western shoulder of Paradise Road.

The car then rolled over onto its roof in an adjacent field on the western shoulder of Paradise Road.

Kuntz was using a seat belt and was not injured.

The car was towed by South Side Towing.

Big Run Volunteer Fire Department; Big Run EMS; and Sykesville EMS assisted at the scene.
