JEFFERSON CO., Pa. (EYT) — It’s a busy week in Jefferson County, and there are several fun events worth checking out.
Here’s a look:
Monday
• The Brookville Area Dementia Support Group will meet at 2:30 p.m. today at the Penn Highlands Brookville Education Conference Center.
• Tonight at 7:00 p.m., Rebecca’s Readers Book Club will meet at the Rebecca M. Arthurs Memorial Library in Brookville.

Thursday
• Beginning Thursday at the Verna Leith Sawmill Theatre in Cook Forest, the Brookville Community Theater group will perform “Steel Magnolias.”
The performance runs each night through Saturday and begins at 8:00 p.m.
Tickets are $15.00. For reservations, call 814-927-5275 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Friday
• The Northfork Chapter 29 Society for PA Archaeology Chapter will meet and have a public program at 7:00 p.m. on Friday at the Heritage House in Brookville.
Saturday
• The Punxsutawney Memorial Library is having a day of mini golf in town from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. It is free to play. At each course stop, it will be decorated using a children’s book theme. You can vote for your favorite course stop, and turn in your completed score card for a chance at prizes.
Course stops include: Groundhog Club Headquarters, Punxsy Chamber of Commerce, Central Fire Department, Garden Club, and Weather Discovery Center.

• At 5:00 p.m. Saturday, the Brookville Mat Club Gun Raffle will be held in the exhibit buildings at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds.
• From 8:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., Gobbler’s Knob in Punxsy will host “Dance Your Way Into Fall.”
A dance and basket raffle will be held at Gobbler’s Knob.
There will be hors d’oeuvres, complimentary beverages, and music by Down to the Wire.
Tickets are a $15.00 donation with the proceeds benefiting the Punxsutawney Weather Discovery Center.
