Albert Dan Seger

5413404979817.imageAlbert Dan Seger, a longtime resident of the Town of Niagara, died Friday, September 12, 2014, at home, while receiving care from Niagara Hospice. He was 81. He was born in Banks Township County, PA on June 1, 1933, the son of Oren Lee and Kiziah (Brunner) Seger.

Mr. Seger served in the US Army. At the age of 53, he retired from Union Carbide after 34 years.  He then worked for Cataract Trucking and Mike Dell. An avid NASCAR fan, he loved trucks and cars and going to camp with his nephew, Frank (Renee) Granto. His greatest joy was spending time with his loving family, friends and his companion dog, Miley. He also was a former volunteer fireman with Niagara Active Hose.

He is survived by his wife, Mabel “Babe”  (VanVolkinburg) Seger, whom he married March 26, 1959; two children, Pamela (Ronnie Perri) Seger Martinucci of the Town of Niagara; Susan (Mark) Seger Graff of Niagara Falls; grandchildren, Robert Seger, Randi (Jennifer) English, Amy (Frank Maida) Martinucci, Stefanie (Ryan Babi) Graff, Nicole (Jake Bullivant) Graff, Joseph  (Elizabeth Peunic) Martinucci, Angela (Scott Beahan) Graff; 14 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by seven brothers and three sisters.

Friends may call Sunday from 3-5 PM and 7-9 PM in the LANE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 8622 Buffalo Avenue, Niagara Falls, where funeral services will be Monday at 11 AM. The interment will be in Riverdale Cemetery, Town of Lewiston. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to Niagara Hospice, Inc., 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY 14094.
