CLARION, Pa. – A Wind Chill Advisory remains in effect for Clarion County and the surrounding areas.

The National Weather Service of Pittsburgh issued the following Wind Chill Advisory on 3:03 a.m. on Monday, March 3, 2014:

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN PITTSBURGH HAS ISSUED A WIND CHILL ADVISORY…WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 1 AM TO 9 AM EST MONDAY.

* WIND CHILL…-10 TO -15 DEGREES.

* TIMING…OVERNIGHT INTO MONDAY MORNING.

* IMPACTS…FROST BITE AND HYPOTHERMIA ARE POSSIBLE IF PRECAUTIONS ARE NOT TAKEN.

* WINDS…NORTH WINDS 5 TO 10 MPH.

* TEMPERATURES…FALLING TO AROUND ZERO.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

A WIND CHILL ADVISORY MEANS THAT VERY COLD AIR AND STRONG WIND WILL PRODUCE LOW WIND CHILL INDICES. THIS COULD RESULT IN FROST BITE AND HYPOTHERMIA IF PRECAUTIONS ARE NOT TAKEN. IF YOU MUST VENTURE OUTDOORS…MAKE SURE YOU DRESS PROPERLY.
