Alexander (Metro) Midock

Alexander (Metro) Midock, 92, New Kensington, died peacefully surrounded by his children on Friday, November 28, 2014, at the Willows Presbyterian Senior Care, Oakmont, PA.

He was born November 13, 1922, in DeLancey (Adrian) PA, the oldest son of the late Nicholas and Mary (Brudnock) Midock.

On October 18, 1947, he married Elizabeth (Walker) Midock of Anita PA, who preceded him in death. They were married for 64 years.

Mr. Midock was a kind and loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was an active and devoted member of St. Peter and Paul’s Byzantine Catholic Church in Tarentum, PA.

He served in the European Campaign as an Army Corporal in World War II before settling in New Kensington as a steel worker. Mr. Midock retired from the Jones and Laughlin Steel Corporation (the former GE Plant) in New Kensington. He was an avid woodworker and hunter. He enjoyed spending time with his family and playing cards with his grandchildren. Mr. Midock recently celebrated his 92nd birthday, surrounded by his family, his friend and priest (Father Wesley Mash), and the caring staff of Willows Senior Care.

Surviving relatives include a son, Randall Midock and wife Paula of Stephens City, Va.; two daughters, Darlene Revell and husband John of Edinboro, and Deanna Skena and husband Gary of Monroeville; six grandchildren, Kim Aufman, Chad Skena, Michael Revell, Matthew Revell, McKenzie Midock and Elizabeth Hope Midock; six great-grandchildren, David Skena, Hunter Skena, Brayden Alexander Skena, Ally Aufman, Eddie Aufman, and Jackson Revell; two sisters Mary Brink and Olga Cook; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Midock was preceded in death by five siblings, George Midock, Margaret Midock, Elizabeth Petroff, Anna Blayer, and Pete Midock.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., Tuesday, December 2, 2014, at the Deeley Funeral Home, Punxsutawney.

A Panachida service will be held at the funeral home at 10:15 Wednesday, December 3, 2014.

A funeral liturgy will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at Saints Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church in Punxsutawney with Father Wesley Mash officiating.

Interment will be beside his loving wife in the Morningside Cemetery, DuBois PA.
