Butch was a veteran of the United States Army serving as a military policeman during the Vietnam War, and then served with the 629th Transportation Unit.
He also served the community through his membership with the St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church where he had been an usher.
He was laid to rest in St. Michael Cemetery.
