Richard Kuntz, a native of Punxsutawney, served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.

Rank: Specialist Fourth Class

Kuntz served during the Vietnam Conflict with the 199th Light Infantry Brigade, 3rd Battalion, 7th Infantry, A Company. His service occupation was Light Weapons Infantry.

Kuntz experienced a serious casualty and was declared dead on February 05, 1968. This occurred in South Vietnam, Binh Duong province. Circumstances of casualty attributed to small arms fire.

He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, the Purple Heart, the Vietnam Campaign Medal, and the Vietnam Service Medal.
