Gene was a life member of the James J. Patterson Post 813 VFW where he served as Past Commander and was a member of the Honor Guard.
He was also a member of the George D. Montgomery American Legion Post 17.
The DuBois Area Honor Guard accorded full military honors following his funeral service.
He was laid to rest in the St. Catherine Cemetery.
