Allie Single in 14th Gives Curve Walk-Off Win over Erie

CURVE, Pa. – Stetson Allie delivered a walk-off single in the bottom of the 14th to give the Altoona Curve a 5-4 victory over the Erie SeaWolves in front 8,767 fans, the tenth-largest crowd in Peoples Natural Gas Field history, on Saturday night.

Allie recorded his second walk-off winner this season for Altoona, and his first walk-off hit in 2016.

Altoona (72-60) won its ninth game over the last ten played against Erie (57-76) and hold a 13-8 record against the SeaWolves this season.

Tomas Morales set the table in the 14th with a one-out single and Barrett Barnes reached on a fielding error by Corey Jones to put runners on first and second to set up Allie’s game-winning hit.

Erie held a 3-0 lead heading into the bottom of the sixth inning before Altoona got on the board with a Jonathan Schwind RBI single to score Edwin Espinal.

Erich Weiss followed with a two-run, pinch-hit double to tie the game at 3-3.

The tie held until the top of the tenth inning when Erie scored on an RBI triple from Mike Gerber against Montana DuRapau gave the SeaWolves a 4-3 lead, but Anderson Feliz led off the bottom of the tenth with a solo home run to tie the game at 4-4.

DuRapau, Brett McKinney and Jason Creasy (Win, 4-1) combined to allow just two hits and one run while striking out a combined five hitters in extra innings.

Altoona set single-game highs with 18 hits and 16 men left on base.

The Curve and SeaWolves will close their four-game series on Sunday at 6 p.m. Curve righty Clay Holmes (10-9, 4.27) will oppose SeaWolves southpaw Josh Turley (7-8, 4.05).
