Anna Faye Weber

Anna Faye Weber, 101, of Big Run, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 4, 2021, at Christ the King Manor.

She was born in Falls Creek on January 26, 1919, a daughter of the late Clyde Senior and Lyda Mae (Bishop) Senior. She became the step-daughter of the late Harry H. Fike following the death of her father Clyde.

Faye married her sweetheart, William Weber on September 28, 1940. They had a wonderful marriage and raised a son together. Her husband preceded her in death on April 23, 1997.

Faye was a faithful member of St. Phillips United Methodist Church in Big Run. She lovingly arranged the flowers at the church for many years, organized funeral dinners, played piano and helped with anything that needed done.

She worked as a Cheniller at Standard Pennant for many years.

Faye was a woman of character, integrity, and soul. She welcomed everyone into her home with freshly baked cookies and delicious pies. She enjoyed growing beautiful roses, feeding and watching the birds and sitting on the porch swing telling stories.

The Big Run Peeper committee selected Faye and Bob Wingert as the 2006 Big Run Person’s of the year.

In 2017, she was honored as Big Run’s Eldest Citizen at the town’s 150th anniversary celebration.

Faye was a Charter member of VFW #9044 Ladies Auxillary and participated in the organization until it dissolved. She also served as the Big Run Borough Tax Collector for many years. She welcomed the Homemakers group and shared her home and crafts with the ladies.

She is survived by one son, Gary Weber and wife Jeanne of Port Matilda; two granddaughters, Leigh Thorne of Chapel Hill, North Carolina and Paige Weber of Atlanta, Georgia; and two great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, William Senior, Harry C. Fike, and Gerald Fike; three sisters, Marie Senior, Gloria Brooks and June Hollopeter.

Due to Covid-19 pandemic, a memorial service will be held on a later date at St. Phillips United Methodist Church.

She will be laid to rest next to her dear husband at McClure Cemetery, Big Run.

Memorial donations may be made in Faye’s memory to St. Phillips United Methodist Church, PO Box Big Run, PA 15715.
